The TUl Turtle Aid programme protects endangered and vulnerable sea turtles, especially around nesting beaches. By working with local NGOs and beachfront tourism businesses, it also engages tourists by teaching them about turtles and how to protect them. Together with local conservation initiatives such as Project Biodiversity, the TUI Turtle Aid programme is working towards a more sustainable and turtle-friendly Cabo Verde.

Endangered nests are protected through relocation into hatcheries, ensuring that baby turtles are protected from anthropogenic threats and that the highest possible number of hatchlings reach the sea.
